I am very excited about getting to do a project for the new Redland Elementary School here in Wetumpka. I will be making a tile wall consisting if 750 tiles (one for each student) It will be a lot of work but very rewarding and I am excited about getting to work with students again after being out of teaching for over a year now! Here are a few pictures of what the wall will look like.

NICU Prints

I have been to the NUCI three times already, and I love it. The families I have met are great. It really is an eye opener to see ALL the babies there. I have the pieces that I did in the kiln. I will post pictures as soon as they come out and cool.

Also, I got the contract to do the tile project at the new Redland Elemantary School. I will start on it as soon as school starts back. This is a huge deal for me! I am very excited.

I am very excited about this week! Thursday, I am going to meet with the representatives of the NICU and Newborn Nursery about doing the tiles at the hospital. For some reason I really feel the need to do this. I hope it turns into something good. I have been thinking a lot lately about why I was blessed with such a perfect healthy child after having somewhat of a tough pregnancy. My only thought is maybe God knew that I wouldn't be able to handle it any other way. The last few weeks have been really trying for me. I end up in Troy's room while he is sleeping just sitting there looking at him wondering how I got so lucky and being so thankful but also feeling a deep hurt for freinds who haven't been so lucky. I don't understand why things happen to babies and children, but I can say that knowing people who have been through these things has made me so very grateful for my child. I hope I can at least give one family a great memory of a perfect child!

These pieces were done in Huntsville with al the girls I used to work with. I miss these girls and it was great getting to see them again. I look forward to the next pottery party.

Pottery Party at LH's house...

Here are the pictures from the party at LH's house. I really enjoyed doing these. Some of the girls had great ideas for original works. Hope you enjoy.

Mother's Day Pottery

Maybe I can figure this blogging thing out??? I guess we will see, won't we? I guess ALL this Mother's Day pottery I have been doing is a great place to start my first blog. The daycare at FBC Talladega had me come by and do some pieces as surprises for Mother's Day! The dads get to take all credit. Way to go dads! I hope all the pottery is enjoyed. Now let me see if I can figure out how to post the pics .....
